TWO businesses are driving ahead with plans for growth after moving into new premises in east Hull.

Dene Harrison Motor Engineers has relocated to an industrial unit in Wilton Street.

The firm has taken one of three industrial units in the terrace, which is located between Dansom Lane and Holderness Road.

The company, which has 25 years of experience in the motor trade, offers a full garage repair, maintenance and MOT testing service for all vehicles.

It is also a specialist in Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) conversions for cars, vans, taxis and commercial vehicles, so having the space to expand was crucial to its plans for growth.

Proprietor Dene Harrison said: “There are two parts to the business. On the one side we do repairs, maintenance and MOT’s and on the other, under the trading name Fuelwise Autogas, we are specialists in LPG conversations and sell LPG.

“I also have a large fleet of taxis that we rent out and all of these run on LPG.

“Before the move I had been in Swan Street for about four years and just needed somewhere bigger.”

A second unit in Wilton Street has been let to Ralf Zugud who has launched a new car and tyre servicing business.

The sole trader said he was attracted to the premises because of its large yard and garage, which would prove invaluable for his business needs.

He said: “I was looking for somewhere with a yard as my customers need somewhere to park and I also have a few cars here. I wanted something fairly large as I have a recovery licence for people carriers, so the big garage is ideal.

“I am mainly involved with car servicing but offer tyre servicing as well.”

Located approximately half a mile east of the city centre, the industrial units are within a short distance of the inner ring road, providing good road circulation around the city, the docks to the east and A63/M62 to the west.

Surveyor Dale Gooderham of Garness Jones who oversaw both deals said Wilton Street’s location made it an attractive choice for the two businesses.

He said: “The units are in a good location giving easy access to the town and A63. We are pleased to have been able to assist Mr. Harrison with the expansion of his business into new premises and it is encouraging to see Mr. Zugud starting to establish his new business.”
