Garness Jones Reception
19/10/2011
UP TO 200 jobs could be created by a telemarketing firm that has moved into city centre offices.Evolution Telecom, launched by local businessman Daniel Moxon to sell mobile phone and landline contracts, has rented the first floor of recently refurbished office space at "25" in
The office, within the former Leeds Permanent Building Society, was leased from Hull-based developer Horncastle, which oversaw the transformation of the building.
The developer let the space to Evolution Telecom as part of its Gro With Horncastle scheme, which aims to support local companies, especially start-ups, by providing assistance such as flexible terms of rent.
Mr Moxon, managing director of Evolution Telecom, said the office had enough space to allow the fledgling company to expand.
He said: "The business plan for Evolution Telecom envisages substantial growth in a relatively short space of time and this was a vitally important consideration when choosing the right office space.
"25 was perfect for us as not only does it offer the required space for a huge increase in personnel and was available straight away, but it also offered an initial rent free period."
Evolution Telecom launched last month with seven employees thanks to support from Hull City Council's Economic Development department, KC Invest and Natwest.
The deal on 25 was negotiated by Jacqui Trott, partner at NT3.
She said: "I would like to wish Evolution Telecom luck in what they are doing.
"The building is very quirky and will provide a fantastic environment to work in."
Paul White, associate director at Garness Jones, who is the joint agent for the building along with NT3, is confident the remainder of the building will soon be occupied.
He said: "We have now rented two thirds of the building.
"There has been a massive amount of interest in the building since it has been refurbished and we are very happy with the improvements."
The revamping of 25 has been well received by HAYS recruitment, which has subsequently refurbished its own offices on the second floor.
In addition, discussions are ongoing with other parties about the offices on the third floor.
William Patterson, of the Horncastle Group, said: "With further contemporary and well serviced office space available at 25 we look forward to supporting more local businesses."
