Improved services promised by Garness Jones

19/10/2011

GARNESS Jones, the chartered surveyors, has promised to deliver an ongoing improved service for clients following a management shake-up.

The company, which operates throughout the Humber region and into North Yorkshire from its headquarters in Hull, believes the move will increase its commitment to client care and business development in all areas of activity.

Dave Garness, a founder of the business, has become managing director of the business and will work closely with Hans Nieuwkerk, who retains his title of director but will take on further responsibility.

On the commercial side of the business, industrial specialist Dale Gooderham, retail and leisure expert Simon Grainger and office and investment lead Paul White have all been appointed associate directors.

Colin Garvin, who has been a director of Garness Jones for almost three years, has become director of professional services.

Steve Jackson has been appointed associate director and will have responsibility for Garness Jones's residential property management portfolio.

Mr Garness said: “These are all significant changes that demonstrate how we want to take the company forward and that also recognise the progress the individuals have made in their respective fields.

“Their own skills and abilities will add a different dimension to what we do. Their enhanced roles provide a platform for them to act independently, bring in fresh ideas and continue to build their own client portfolios.

“I have every confidence that clients will benefit because they will be dealing with people at Garness Jones who they already know well and who now have the authority to deal with projects in their entirety."

Garness Jones was established in 1996 with a team of three people and now boasts a staff of 20.

Mr Garness added: “We now have a significantly better quality business than we had even a few years ago. We now handle some of the most high profile instructions in this part of the world - that’s been a big difference."

“We now have the size, strength and contacts to enable us to handle any instruction that comes along and my role in all of this will be to help us build on where we are by getting closer to some of our key clients and by focusing on a strategy for the business that benefits all our clients.”
