Garness Jones is continuing its commitment to training the next generation of commercial property specialists in Yorkshire with university graduate Moghees Gilani joining the Hull-based commercial management team.
Moghees, 24, from Bolton, joins with a master’s degree accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in Real Estate, and an undergraduate degree in economics from Reading University.
With a track-record of training and mentoring graduate surveyors and guiding them through their RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC), Moghees will benefit from not only working in the commercial management department, but all areas of the business.
He says a keen interest in property made the Management Graduate Surveyor role at Garness Jones one which greatly appealed to him, and with his first couple of months of experience now under his belt, he says is delighted to have been offered the opportunity.
“It’s been a great first couple of months here, there is so much to learn,” he said.
“I’d been keen to get into property and focussed my time at university on it, so when I saw this role become available it looked an ideal opportunity with a very good business.
“It’s a continuous learning experience as there are so many aspects to the job.
“I’ve been involved with a lot of day-to-day property management tasks so far, but I’ve also been learning about lease advisory, which again is an important part of the service provided to clients.
“I didn’t know too much about Hull before moving here either, other than it being a port city, so again that’s another area of learning for me, trying to get to know the locality and how that impacts on the commercial property sector.
“The whole team has been very welcoming, and while it’s been challenging with so much to learn, it has also been fun. I’m looking forward to working towards my Chartered Surveyor qualification with the support of the team.”
