Agency Surveyor

We are looking for an ambitious and motivated Commercial Agency Surveyor to join our Hull office and work closely with the Agency Director.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad commercial property experience across retail, office, industrial, investment, development and land, while working towards RICS Chartered Surveyor status through the APC pathway.

The Role

The successful candidate will support the Agency Director in delivering a range of commercial property instructions, with responsibility increasing as their knowledge and experience develops.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Commercial property disposals and acquisitions.
  • Retail and office agency.
  • Property inspections, viewings and marketing.
  • Preparing property particulars, reports and client advice.
  • Negotiating and progressing transactions through to completion.
  • Investment sales and acquisitions.
  • Land and development opportunities.
  • Rental, capital and investment analysis.
  • Landlord and tenant matters, including rent reviews and lease renewals.
  • Market research, comparable evidence and analysis.
  • Client relationship management and business development.
  • Monitoring local and regional property market activity.

Professional Standards

You will be expected to maintain a high standard of organisation, professionalism and client care, including:

  • Keeping Agency Pilot and other records fully up to date.
  • Meeting agreed deadlines and maintaining accurate records.
  • Preparing thoroughly for inspections, meetings and negotiations.
  • Maintaining appropriate records for APC purposes.
  • Developing a strong understanding of rents, yields, capital values and comparable evidence.
  • Keeping up to date with RICS requirements and professional standards.
  • Demonstrating integrity, commercial awareness and a commitment to delivering excellent client service.

APC & Training

Experience & Qualifications

Ideally, you will have:

  • A RICS-accredited degree or relevant property qualification.
  • Previous commercial property experience and/or experience working towards the APC.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good numerical, analytical and IT skills.
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
  • A proactive, professional and commercially minded approach.
  • A genuine ambition to build a long-term career in commercial property.
