Newly appointed Garness Jones director Zoe Clarvis says the firm’s commercial property management department can continue its recent growth as it has a ‘proven track record of maximising efficiencies and returns’ for property owners and investors.
Having expanded its presence across North Yorkshire with a dedicated York office and partnering with Barry Crux & Company – Mrs Clarvis says Garness Jones has a big market to target across all services.
It comes as she takes on the responsibility for continuing to expand the firm’s commercial management work, having progressed through the ranks at the business herself since joining nine years ago.
“It’s really pleasing to have been promoted to the role of director and to now be leading our commercial management work,” she said.
“I’ve good experience across a number of roles within the business, from agency surveyor to commercial manager, so I’ve been able to gain a great understanding of the priorities for landlords and owners of properties, sites and portfolios.
“Importantly, I’ve been involved in managing estates of differing sizes and in different sectors in recent years, and in providing asset and portfolio management for landlords, day to day.
“We have a proven track record of maximising efficiencies and returns for owners and landlords, so it’s a case of speaking to more people about how we can help, and the benefits we can offer to them.”
Advice on improving efficiencies, profitability and value
Specialising in managing multi-tenanted developments across all sectors, the commercial management team at Garness Jones not only provides facilities management and takes care of day-to-day maintenance and compliance, but also provides expert strategic advice on how to improve profitability and increase property value.
It’s an area Mrs Clarvis believes offers opportunity for growth, and says will be a focus moving forward.
“Whether it be in reviewing rents and advising on lease renewals, to considering the benefits of refurbishments or change of use, it can all help increase yields, and value.
“We are often instructed to manage properties and portfolios on behalf of buyers who we advise and support through a purchase, but people can turn to us at any time as we can add value at any stage using our in-depth knowledge of the Yorkshire property market.”
New finance administrator recruited
With the business expecting further growth, experienced property finance administrator Tony Swakamisa has been recruited to work alongside client finance manager Anneke Hamilton, ensuring processes remain as efficient as possible.
Mrs Clarvis added: “We’re seeing growth in our services and our aim is to ensure we are as efficient and effective as we can be, both internally in how we work, and externally for our clients.
“We are delighted to add Tony to the team.”
